    • Republican Candidate Protests Challenger’s deadline submission Colorado Republican gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Coffman is protesting challenger Walker Stapleton’s decision to compete at the party’s state assembly this weekend. Coffman sent a letter Thursday to state party attorney Scott Gessler insisting that Stapleton missed an April 2 deadline for declaring he would seek to qualify for the June primary at Saturday’s assembly.
    • Grand Junction Trustee Resigns A Grand Junction area trustee has announced that he is resigning less than 48 hours after winning the election. Jesse Loughman says he is giving up the Palisade office so he can keep his five marijuana licenses. Palisade trustees are the licensing authority for the town’s marijuana businesses and therefore cannot hold a marijuana license.
