The Rifle Snowmobile Club is preparing for the 21th Annual Poker Run on the Flat Tops Sunday, February 16, 2014. Parking is available at the Rifle Creek Trail Head and at West Elk Creek Trailheads. Hands will be sold at Rifle Creek Trail Head and at Corral Park (Station 5) beginning at 9:30 am. Hands will not be sold after 1 pm. You can purchase one hand for $6 or 4 hands for $20.
All hands must be turned in by 2:30 pm at Corral Park (Station 5). Prize money will be given starting at 3 pm. Prize money is as follows: 1st Place – $500, 2nd Place – $250, 3rd Place – $150 and 4th Place – $100. We will also have door prizes that have been donated by many local businesses.
Corral Park (Station 5) will also have Chili, hot dogs, hamburgers, hot chocolate and coffee available. Donations can be made for food.
The Rifle Snowmobile Club is a volunteer organization with community members from Garfield and Mesa Counties. The Poker Run fundraiser helps cover expenses associated with trail grooming for recreational purposes, such as fuel and groomer repairs. The Rifle Snowmobile Club is responsible for maintaining and grooming trails on the Flat Tops. Snowmobilers, cross-country skiers, dogsledders, snowshoers and many others, use these trails.
