It won’t be difficult to find something you’re interested in while celebrating the 4th of July in Aspen. Whether you prefer to challenge yourself with a five-mile run or you’re looking to relax and watch the parade, there is something for everyone this 4th of July.
Aspen’s 4th of July Celebration will kick off at 8a.m. with the Boogie’s Diner Buddy 5-mile race. After runners cross the finish line, the festivities continue throughout the day including a kid’s carnival and bicycle decorating at Paepcke Park, community picnics around town, and not to be missed – the Old Fashioned Parade at noon!
Leading the parade this year will be the 2013 Grand Marshals, Dale & Charlotte Paas. The Paas Family owned and operated the popular Limelite Lodge from the1960s until 2010. The passion of the Paas Family about the Aspen community has been reflected by their years of service to the Aspen Chamber Resort Association. Dale served as an ACRA Board member and his guidance contributed much to building and broadening the upper valley’s lodging reputation of unmatched personal service for community visitors. We are grateful to the entire Paas family who have all performed incomparable service to enrich the Aspen community fabric.
The party doesn’t end with the parade! Continue to celebrate America’s Birthday with Dancing in the Streets on the Mill Street Mall from 8:00 – 10:30p.m. Denver based rock-n-roll band, The Congress, will have you dancing the night away! The concert will be preceded by clowns, face painters, and lots of patriotic FUN for the whole family from 5-8p.m. This event is FREE and everyone is invited.
