There will be a FREE physics lecture, ” Maps of – and in – the Brain,” given by Charles F. Stevens, Salk Institute for Biological Studies, at 6:00 PM, Thursday, July 19, at Paepcke Auditorium, behind the Music Tent. The human brain is the most complex object known. Despite this complexity, many features of brain design can be easily grasped. I plan to describe some of these features, from ones discovered 100 years ago to new principles based on recent advances in physics, mathematics, and computer science. For more information about all of our 50th Anniversary events, please see www.aspenphys.org or call 925-2585.
