The public is invited to attend the upcoming Garfield County Energy Advisory Board meeting Thursday, June 7th from 5:30-8 pm at the Rifle Branch Library, 207 East Avenue, Rifle, CO. The Energy Advisory Board is a monthly forum for the public, oil and gas industry, landowners and local government to engage in positive and proactive communication and actions that encourage responsible and balanced development of energy resources. Bryan Whiteley a Landscape Architect and Piceance Construction & Reclamation Coordinator with Encana Oil & Gas will discuss Encana’s Piceance Basin Surface Management approach to oil and gas development. Specifically, Bryan will discuss oil and gas site reclamation rules and regulations, life span planning & surface management, how other regulations affect reclamation, land owner input, general types of reclamation, seed mix, and stakeholder expectations. “Today, how an operator manages the surface of the location in terms of sight, sound, odor, and aesthetics becomes a critical part of the success or failure of a drilling project. The public and the regulatory agencies are scoring oil & gas operator’s performance on what happens above ground and not below ground.” Again the Garfield County Energy Advisory Board meeting is Thursday, June 7th from 5:30-8 pm at the Rifle Branch Library, 207 East Avenue, Rifle, CO. Beginning at 5:30 pm, a complimentary light dinner and social time is provided for meeting attendees. The meeting will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. For meal-planning purposes, RSVPs to Denice Brown, Garfield County Oil and Gas assistant at (970) 625-5915 are appreciated.
