The award winning Glenwood High School Percussion Ensemble, will be marching in the Garfield County Fair Parade on Saturday, August 10 from 10 am to noon in Rifle. The group will be representing The Salvation Army Intervalley Service Center, Glenwood.
The ensemble also marched and played for The Salvation Army at this past June’s Strawberry Days Parade in Glenwood and in prior years.
According to Percussion Ensemble Director Cindy Palmer, “Everyone is thrilled to be marching for such a crucial emergency services organization like TSA. We’ve got a lot of great musical magic to share at the parade.”
The GSHS Percussion Ensemble is a performance and competition group made up of middle and high school students who play a multitude of percussion instruments, including the marching drums. The ensemble finished second place at the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association State Finals this past year.
