Why 1887? In October, the Glenwood Springs Branch Library is proudly hosting One Book One Community: a community-wide read of Doc: A Novel, the story of Dr. John Henry Holliday. To kick-off our community read, we’ll be hosting Cindy Hines, director of the Frontier Historical Society, to give us some insight into what life was like during the legendary last days of Doc Holliday. The year 1887 was an exciting time in Glenwood Springs, with the addition of the new railroads and the Ute uprising. Join us to learn about our community’s vibrant history! Glenwood Springs in 1887: A Historical Talk will take place at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Thursday, September 19, at 7:00 pm.
