Entering into the Dog Days of Summer, Carbondale celebrates that Life is a Beach, so bring your bongos to First Friday, August 2nd, and enjoy live music, limbo and hoola hoop contests, and a winding conga line down Main Street. Flower leis are optional!
Local merchants will have specials celebrating all things Carbondale. To ready for all the activities, Main Street will be closed from 5-9 p.m., and as a reminder, Carbondale has a no open container law. For more information, contact the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce, 970-963-1890 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The new Carbondale Branch Library, 320 Sopris Ave, hosts TVS & Two Fingers from Fort Collins in concert from 5-7:30pm. For 17 years TVS & Two Fingers have been involving audiences with a mind-teasing mix of original and spoken words and sound art made from traditional and very non-traditional instruments. All ages are welcome to attend this “sound poetry” concert.
Visitors are encouraged to park in the temporary RFTA parking lot at the corner of Highway 133 and Colorado Ave. or at the corner of 4th and Colorado Ave., and walk to the various First Friday events, and safely enjoy the promotion of all things Carbondale.
The next First Friday committee meeting is Thursday, August 8th, 9:30 a.m. at the Third Street Center conference room. For more information about the First Friday committee, contact the Chamber, 970-963-1890, email@example.com, and “like” First Friday Carbondale on Facebook to stay in the loop.
