It’s lights, camera, and runway action at Carbondale’s May 3rd First Friday. Carbondale merchants will have specials celebrating all things Carbondale, and as always, a horse-drawn carriage sponsored by the Pour House offers transportation around town and White House Pizza has two-for-one well drinks. To ready for all the activities, Main Street will be closed from 5-9pm, Third Street (in front of the Village Smithy) will be closed starting at 2:30pm, and as a reminder, Carbondale has a no open container law. For more information, contact the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce, 970-963-1890 or firstname.lastname@example.org. As part of its ongoing digital cinema fundraising campaign, the Crystal Theatre is hosting a Movie Memorabilia Sale from 5-9pm. Featured items include several years of movie posters priced from $10-50, as well as buttons, press kits including black & white movie stills, t-shirts, digital press kits, banners and more. Help the Crystal Theatre reach its goal of $70,000, grab a free bag of popcorn, and take home a piece of Hollywood! Lulubelle Women’s Clothing Boutique will hold its 3rd annual fashion show to kick off summer in style. DJ May starts at 6pm, and the show starts on Main Street at 7pm. This is an evening the whole family will enjoy. The Summer Family Block Party on Carbondale’s May First Friday, 4-8pm at the corner of Main and 3rd streets will include playful $1 (or $20 all access wristband) activities for the kiddos courtesy of the Carbondale Recreation & Community Center, arts and crafts from the Children’s Rocky Mountain School, and the chance to meet some of Colorado Animal Rescue’s sweetest adoptable pets. Live music and prize drawings, and food and drinks will be available to purchase through the Village Smithy. Proceeds benefit valley recreation, early childhood education, and our local animal shelter. Art by Suki Gallery opening at 215 N. 12th St., Unit E, is First Friday, 3-7pm. Light appetizers will be served, and local artists will be selling their work. Artists are encouraged to go see the gallery if they would like to display their work there.
