On Friday, May 10th, at 7:30 PM, the Roaring Fork Cultural Council will present renowned artist, James Surls at Thunder River Theatre. Surls will share his thoughts on the connection between man and nature through a slideshow and discussion. Surls¹ work is at home in the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, plus included in the collections of private and commercial buildings and gardens around the world. Recently one of his sculptures was installed in the Denver Botanical Garden. Surls¹ work is being considered by Carbondale’s Town Council to be featured in a new museum which would be housed in Carbondale’s old library with new additions to that building. We invite you to attend this presentation and become familiar with the work of James Surls, our Missouri Heights neighbor. Tickets are $20 and benefit the Roaring Fork Cultural Council.
