During the last century, Western Colorado has seen a number of dramatic changes to its environment. The Rifle Branch Library is inviting the public to help create a photographic archive of the last 100 years. Residents are invited to submit photos (digital or print copies) portraying environmental changes to the Discover Earth Photo Contest now through July 31st. Entries will be featured on Garfield County Libraries’ (GCL) website and at the Rifle Branch Library. The participant who submits the best photograph will win a copy of Peter McBride’s and Jonathan Waterman’s book, “The Colorado River: Flowing Through Conflict,” and will be featured in GCL’s quarterly newsletter. For more information, call 625-4270 or go online at http://gcpld.org/news-and-events/discover-earth/environmental-image-wall.
