Aspen Writers’ Foundation, a leading literary center and stage for the world’s most prominent authors, will host beloved writer and memoirist Cheryl Strayed in an engaging and inspired event on Friday, April 12th, at Paepcke Auditorium as the last presentation of its 16th annual Winter Words series. On a quest to restore balance to her life, Cheryl Strayed set off into the wilderness with minimal backcountry experience and braved an eleven-hundred-mile solo hike along the Pacific Crest Trail. Strayed will discuss her journey, chronicled in the hugely popular book, Wild, and will share her search to overcome heartache and find healing. She will also provide the audience a little advice about life, love, and the latest from her newest endeavor as the famed “Dear Sugar” columnist on TheRumpus.net. A book signing, with books available for purchase from Explore Booksellers, will immediately follow. “The 2013 Winter Words series is poised to end on a very high note, making this final evening one of our most anticipated events,” says Aspen Writers’ Foundation Director Mo LaMee. “Cheryl’s lyrically beautiful writing and raw courage resonate on so many levels. We are delighted to share many wonderful moments with Cheryl on our stage.” Tickets to this Winter Words event may be purchased from Aspen Show Tickets: www.aspenshowtix.com or 970-920-5770.
