How Garth Brooks’ World Tour Inspired the Title of His New Album

Garth Brooks’ 11th studio album, which is on its way next month, will be titled Gunslinger.

“The album title came to me when somebody asked me what my favorite thing about being on the road was,” the CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee reveals. “I said, ‘It just feels good to be out there being a gunslinger again, just aiming with the heart and shooting from the hip. That’s what you do on the stage, right?’ … As soon as I said it, I knew that was the album title right there.”

This week, the project’s first single, “Baby Let’s Lay Down and Dance,” debuted at number 19 on Billboard’s Country Songs chart.

Garth has previously announced that the new album will first be available exclusively at Target, as part of their exclusive 10-disc set, Garth Brooks:  The Ultimate Collection. Gunslinger’s official release date is November 25.
