The article on Tebowmania was written by Michael Silver and titled “The year of Magical Stinking: An Oral History of Tebow Time.”

In it, Quinn was quoted as saying, “We’ve had a lot of, I guess, luck, to put it simply.” He also said he felt the fans had a lot to do with Tebow leapfrogging him on the depth chart in supplanting Kyle Orton as the starter after a 1-4 start.

Quinn took to Twitter after the article’s release Tuesday, saying the comments attributed to him did not reflect his opinion of Tebow.

(AP) – The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired a first-round pick in the 2012 draft and minor league defenseman Sebastien Piche in a three-team trade that also involved Colorado and Detroit.

Tampa Bay sent forward Steve Downie to the Avalanche for defenseman Kyle Quincey.

The Lightning then dealt Quincey to the Red Wings for a first-round pick and Piche.

The moves were announced on Tuesday.

(AP) – Three teenagers stuck for a night in a blizzard survived by burning what they could, including their snowmobile.

The three teens got stuck in the Routt National Forest during a snowmobiling trip.

Justin McAlexander, Jessie Burke and Mason Burke got stranded on Sunday. They were supposed to return home by 5 that evening, but their snowmobiles got caught in 2 to 3 feet of snow.

Crews finally reached the three boys at about 8 a.m. Monday, about 15 hours after a search began.

Two of the youths were treated for minor injuries and sent home.

La Plata County sheriff’s spokesman Nathan Harris said Wednesday the Upper Pine River Fire Protection District was called Tuesday night to put out the fire.

Harris said the explosion is still under investigation and the extent of injuries was not known.

(AP) – Stickers circulated to businesses in Fruita with the acronym WTF – “Welcome to Fruita” – will not be used to promote tourism because City Council members oppose the idea.

A local couple, Steve and Denise Hight, made 500 stickers with the slogan then dropped them off to local businesses where they were gone in about two days. The demand was so high they were asked to make 1,500 more. The slogan was considered for a larger-scale ad campaign to draw tourism to the town, but many residents and Council members oppose using an acronym associated with vulgarity.

The Hights do not plan to make any more stickers after they give away the last batch, nor do they intend to make any profit from them.
