Body Found on Trail Above No Name, River Search for Boy Continues

A body was found this afternoon in Glenwood Canyon. According to information from the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, deputies working with another agency, found a man’s body on the Jess Weaver trail above No Name around 2 o’clock this afternoon. That’s the same area where a small plane crashed two days ago in which the pilot walked away with minor injuries. The Sheriff’s Office is not saying at this time if the body that was found today is in any way connected to the plane crash. There was no sign of foul play. The Garfield County Coroner is conducting an autopsy and will release the identity of the man once the family is notified.

Meanwhile, another day of searching the Colorado River for the little boy who drowned Sunday evening while innertubing with his stepdad and older sister failed to turn up anything new. Twelve year old Richard Buchanan did not know how to swim and was not wearing a life vest when he slipped off his tube and into the river. The youngster was a student at Glenwood springs Middle School.
