Colorado Flags to Fly at Half-Staff Today

DENVER (AP) – Colorado public buildings will be lowering their flags to half-staff in remembrance of the 70th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attacks.

Governor John Hickenlooper ordered the flags to be lowered from sunrise to sunset. More than 3,500 Americans were killed or wounded during the Japanese attack at the port in Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941.

Congress has designated the day each year as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
