COLORADO SPRINGS. Colo (AP) – Police say four people are dead in two separate shootings in Colorado Springs.
Sergeant David Edmondson says the violence occurred late Wednesday night. Details are still sketchy.
He says three men were killed near Montebello and Mira Loma Circle in central Colorado Springs.
When police arrived to investigate shots being fired, they found two men dead and one wounded. The injured man later died at a hospital.
Earlier in the evening, one man was killed and another person wounded at an Auto Zone store in the eastern part of town.
Edmondson says the suspect remains at large after briefly holding a woman hostage.
In a third shooting, police officers wounded a 21-year-old man who had a handgun.
The sergeant says the man fled from police. The shooting occurred after the man ran into an apartment building.
