FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) – The Larimer County prosecutor has
dropped criminal charges against a 16-year-old Texas boy accused of
kicking a rock off a cliff that killed a Michigan girl vacationing
in northern Colorado. The trial of the Katy, Texas, boy had been
set for Feb. 1.
DILLON, Colo. (AP) – A snow slide apparently caused when a wall
of plowed snow fell on Loveland Pass trapped several vehicles.
State Trooper Heather Cobler tells Denver’s KMGH-TV that all
vehicles were removed after the slide yesterday afternoon. No
injuries were reported.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – A man and woman will be tried
separately in the death of a 9-year-old girl whose body was found
in the crawl space of a vacant home. The Gazette of Colorado
Springs reports that District Judge G. David Miller yesterday
ordered separate trials for 30-year-old Hanif Zarif Sims and
30-year-old Monique Alisa Lynch in Genesis Sims’ death.
GREELEY, Colo. (AP) – A preliminary hearing has been scheduled
in March for a Phoenix truck driver accused of a crime spree in
northern Colorado. Forty-seven-year-old Scott Walker appeared by
video for a court hearing yesterday in Greeley. The Tribune says a
preliminary hearing was set for March 2 after a request by Walker’s
attorney, Seth Hardy of Denver.
