Carbondale–A candlelight vigil will be held tonight at Sopris Park in
Carbondale in honor of police officer Nino Santiago. Santiago committed
suicide four days ago. The community-wide vigil will begin at 7:30.
Glenwood Springs–In the Glenwood City council Ward 1 race, the
challenger is spending more on his campaign than the incumbent.
Ted Edmonds has spent over 13-hundred dollars on the campaign
while Russ Arensman has spent about 350 dollars to get
re-elected.
Denver/Silt–The Strudley family of Silt Mesa is suing Antero
Resources for several million dollars to cover medical expenses
they say were brought on by oil and gas drilling activity.
The family says they were forced to move out of their home
due to numerous health problems. The suit against Antero
was filed yesterday by a New York-based law firm.
State Capitol–Full strength beer may one day be sold in
Colorado grocery stores and gas stations. A bill opening
the door for supermarkets to sell beer stronger than
3.2 percent alcohol, was passed by a House committee.
GYPSUM, Colo. (AP) – Vice President Joe Biden and family are
taking what’s called a low-key vacation at Snowmass Village.
The Vail Daily reports Friday that Biden landed at the Eagle
County airport late Thursday and was taken by motorcade Snowmass
Village.
Pitkin County Sheriff Joe DiSalvo calls the trip a low-key
vacation.
Biden flew in from Florida, where he headlined fundraising
events for Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson.
