Glenwood Springs US Bank Robbery Suspect in Custody

The man suspected of robbing the downtown Glenwood Springs US Bank two months ago is in custody. According to reports from the Glenwood Springs Police Department, 45 year old Mark Douglas Osterloo of Denver is being he’ll in the Denver County jail on 20 thousand dollars bond. An arrest warrant on Osterloo was issued when investigators learned he was already in jail.

It may be a while before osterloo faces charges in Glenwood because he’s also being linked to two bank robberies in Colorado Springs on June 4th and the 14th. His method in those holdups were similar to the Glenwood Springs robbery where no weapon was displayed and there was no use of force. Osterloo simply told a teller he had a gun, asked for cash and walked out. Glenwood Springs Police Chief Terry Wilson says getting an arrest warrant on Osterloo was possible thanks to agencies sharing information on a statewide network that allows investigators to connect patterns and crimes.

It’s possible that prosecutors in each district may decide to combine cases when and if it goes to trial. In Glenwood Springs, Osterloo is facing three felonies for aggravated robbery, theft and menacing.
