Glenwood Springs—An injured hiker and a lost hunter had to be rescued above Canyon Creek Wednesday night in two separate incidents. According to reports from the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, the hiker fell and suffered injuries to both knees. He and his wife were hiking in steep terrain in the Possum Creek area about six miles past the end of County Road 137. Members of the Garfield County Search and Rescue team rode ATVs to reach the couple and stayed with them overnight until a National Guard Helicopter from Eagle arrived to take them to Valley View Hospital. As for the overdue hiker….he’s fine. He was eventually found by his friends.
