DENVER (AP) – Gov John Hickenlooper has signed a Colorado elections overhaul that includes same-day voter registration and mailing ballots to all voters. With the bill, every registered voter will get a ballot by mail, but they could still vote in person.

DENVER (AP) – Oil and gas drilling critics in Colorado are looking for new strategies after they mostly failed to see state lawmakers increase oversight on the industry. Lawmakers rejected a bill to increase inspections at oil and gas wells and failed to agree to minimum fines for operator spills.

DENVER (AP) – Britain’s Prince Harry is headed to Colorado as part of a weeklong visit to the United States. The prince will attend the Warrior Games in Colorado Springs this weekend. More than 200 wounded servicemen and women from the U.S. and Britain will participate.

DURANGO, Colo. (AP) – A Durango area couple is giving up their fight to keep a 13-foot escape route for their cats outside their Colorado apartment. The Durango Herald reports their homeowners association didn’t like the catwalk from a window to a nearby tree.
