Carbondale–The Carbondale and Rural Fire Protection District has two new board members. In a special election last night, Robert Emerson and Louis Eller were elected to four year terms.

Silt–The Bureau of Land Management is reviewing whether a land swap in the Roaring Fork Valley is in the public interest. The swap involves the Sutey Ranch and the Two Shoes Ranch owned by Leslie and Abigail Wexner.

Glenwood Springs–Several people showed up to witness and celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Glenwood Springs library, plaza and two-story parking structure downtown. The new facilities are being built on Cooper Avenue between 8th and 9th street and should be completed by next summer.

Denver–State lawmakers will wrap up the 2012 session tonight on bitter, partisan note. A Republican fillibuster in the house thwarted efforts to pass a civil unions bill for gay couples in Colorado.
