As of 7:30pm on Monday the 12th of August the fire on county road 115 had consumed approx 150 acres of pinon and juniper near the Crystal Light subdivison. Residents in the area where put on evacuation notice, but no evacuations where issued. No structures have been lost and no injuries have been reported.
A single engine Air Tanker dropped two loads of slurry before dark. The fire is 0% contained as Glenwood Springs Fire crews will continue patrol the area overnight. County road 115 remains closed from state highway 82 to the junction with county road 119.
Winds did shift around 7:30pm driving smoke and ash into Glenwood Springs. Anyone with breathing problems is advised to stay indoors and limit their exposure to the smoke and ash.
