Twin Tunnels Weekly Traffic Advisory: Overnight traffic pacing to impact travel time beginning ThursdayAsphalt paving, sign installation, truck hauling operations and median barrier and electrical work are part of the planned activities for next week, east and west of the Twin Tunnels.

Lane closures are scheduled as follows, weather permitting:

·        Monday, October 14

·        3:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. – one lane closed eastbound

·        6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. – one lane closed westbound

·        Tuesday, October 15

·        3:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. – one lane closed eastbound

·        6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. – one lane closed westbound

·        Wednesday, October 16

·        6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. – one lane closed eastbound

·        6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. – one lane closed westbound

·        Thursday, October 17 (PLEASE NOTE)

·        6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. – one lane closed eastbound

·        6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday – eastbound and westbound traffic stopped for 20 minutes, one direction at a time, to remove forms from eastbound tunnel and move to storage yard.  Pace car will manage traffic control.

·        Friday, October 18

·        6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. – one lane closed eastbound

·        7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday – eastbound and westbound traffic stopped for 20 minutes, one direction at a time, to remove forms from eastbound tunnel and move to storage yard.  Pace car will manage traffic control.

Drivers should be prepared for longer than normal delays while the above lane closures are in place – depending on traffic volumes.  The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) recommends that drivers plan extra driving time for their trips through this area, primarily during daylight hours.
