HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL
IN GRAND JUNCTION LAST NIGHT, THE GLENWOOD DEMONS SPLIT A PAIR OF GAMES AGAINST THE 5-A TIGERS. THE LADY DEMONS IMPROVED TO 7 AND O WITH A 54-49 WIN IN OVERTIME. KENZIE
KUHN LED ALL SCORERS WITH 24 POINTS INCLUDING A KEY ASSIST AND THREE CLUTCH FREE THROWS IN THE EXTRA FOUR MINUTE FRAME. LEXIE WARKENTIN SCORED 14 POINTS, PULLED DOWN FIVE REBOUNDS, BLOCKED A COUPLE OF SHOTS AND HAD THREE STEALS. CONNOR ADAMS POSTED 9 POINTS AND 4 BOARDS WHILE CASSIDY GADDIS HAD 5 POINTS, SIX ASSISTS AND FOUR STEALS. THE BOY’S GAME WASN’T NEARLY AS ENTERTAINING. IN FACT, IT WAS PAINFUL TO WATCH. GLENWOOD PLAYED DOWN TO THE
COMPETITION AND LOST TO A MEDIOCRE GRAND JUNCTION TEAM, 53-37. DESPITE SHOOTING 14 OF 51 FROM THE FIELD INCLUDING 6 OF 22 FROM BEYOND THE ARC, THE DEMONS OUTREBOUNDED THE TIGERS AND WERE IN THE GAME UNTIL THE CLOSING MINUTES.

THE TIGERS, OUTSCORED GLENWOOD 7 TO 5 DURING A BRICK-LAYING THIRD QUARTER TO MAINTAIN A 29 TO 26 LEAD GOING INTO THE FOURTH. THE DEMONS COULD ONLY MUSTER 11 POINTS IN THE FINAL QUARTER WHILE THE TIGERS SUDDENLY WOKE UP WITH 24 POINTS TO MERCIFULLY BRING THE CURTAIN DOWN ON A GAME THAT THANKFULLY DOESN’T COUNT IN THE LEAGUE STANDINGS. THE DEMONS WILL NEED TO BRING THEIR ‘A’ GAME TO PEACH VALLEY ON FRIDAY AS THEY TAKE ON THE TITANS AT COAL RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL AT 5:30 AND 7. BOTH GAMES WILL BE BROADCAST LIVE ON KMTS.
SPEAKING OF THE TITANS, THEY TOOK CARE OF BUSINESS AGAINST THE 4-A EAGLE VALLEY DEVILS LAST NIGHT AT COAL RIDGE. COAL RIDGE TOOK THE GIRL’S GAME, 48-43 WHILE THE TITAN BOY’S
WON THE NIGHTCAP, 66-56.
