THE RIFLE BEARS SWEPT THE MOFFAT COUNTY BULLDOGS LAST NIGHT IN THE OPENING ROUND OF THE PALISADE TOURNAMENT. THE LADY BEARS DOMINATED THE ONCE POWERFUL LADY BULLDOGS 53-33. SENIOR CORTNEY CORDOVA LIT UP THE SCOREBOARD WITH
26 POINTS TO LEAD THE WAY. IN THE BOY’S GAME, THE RIFLE BEARS WERE JUST AS IMPRESSIVE, BEATING MOFFAT COUNTY 73-56. RYAN CREECH LED THE BEARS WITH 18 POINTS. RIFLE WILL TAKE ON PALISADE TONIGHT AT 6 AND 7:30.
THE GLENWOOD DEMONS AND THE COAL RIDGE TITANS WILL FACE EACH OTHER ON THE HARDWOOD TONIGHT IN PEACH VALLEY. THE 7 AND O LADY DEMONS WILL TAKE ON THE LADY TITANS AT 5:30 AND THE BOYS WILL TIP OFF AT 7. CATCH BOTH GAMES LIVE ON KMTS.
THERE’S NO SHORTAGE OF LOCAL SOCCER PLAYERS ON THE THE WESTERN SLOPE ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS.
HIGH FIVES TO COAL RIDGE SENIOR ALFONSO HERNANDEZ, WHO WAS NAMED THE PLAYER OF THE YEAR. HIS COACH, BRIAN BLAIR WAS VOTED ‘COACH OF THE YEAR’ FOR THE FOURTH TIME. HE’S EARNED
THE HONOR ONE OTHER TIME WITH THE BOYS AND TWICE FOR COACHING GIRL’S SOCCER. OTHER ITANS TO EARN POST SEASON HONORS INCLUDE ELIEL RUIZ, LUIS PENA AND DYLAN COOK WHO WERE
ALL NAMED TO THE FIRST TEAM. TYLER GUETTLER AND JORGE HERNANDEZ EARNED HONORABLE MENTION.
FROM ROARING FORK HIGH SCHOOL, SAULITO VEGA, DALTON HANDY AND SAM CARPENTER MADE THE FIRST TEAM WHILE ANTONIO MADRIGAL AND ROBERTO
RAMIREZ WERE NAMED HONORABLE MENTION.

FROM THE RIFLE BEARS, FRANK RIVAS MADE FIRST TEAM ALL CONFERENCE. FERNANDO CARRREON WAS HONORABLE MENTION. MIGUEL MANCINAS OF THE GRAND VALLEY CARDINALS WAS NAMED TO THE FIRST TEAM WHILE OSCAR DIAZ WAS HONORABLE MENTION.
