DENVER (AP) – Pinch-hitter John Mayberry Jr. hit a game-tying
two-run homer in the ninth inning and Shane Victorino homered to
lead off the 10th as the Philadelphia Phillies overtook the
Colorado Rockies 4-3 on Monday night for their fourth win in a row.
Down to their last out and trailing 3-1 in the ninth, the
Phillies rallied against Rockies closer Huston (HYOO’-stuhn)
Street. Carlos Ruiz hit a two-out double and Mayberry pinch-hit for
reliever Michael Stutes.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley has been
traded from Philadelphia to Denver for a 2013 draft pick, two days
after the Eagles agreed to send the former first-round pick to
Cleveland.
The move was announced Monday, and Eagles general manager Howie
Roseman says Bunkley will report to the Broncos.
Bunkley didn’t show up in Cleveland.
Bunkley had six sacks in 76 games in Philadelphia.
He became expendable when the Eagles signed former Packers
defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins.

CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. (AP) – Lance Armstrong has qualified for
the Leadville Trail 100, a year after skipping the high-altitude
endurance mountain bike race. Armstrong qualified by winning the 63-mile Crested Butte Alpine Odyssey on Sunday in four hours, 32 minutes and 21 seconds, edging Greg Krause of Littleton for the win by 3 seconds.
Armstrong skipped the Leadville race last year.
His spokesman said then that Armstrong was still feeling
lingering effects of a hip injury from the Tour de France and
wanted to spend time with his children before the start of school.
