Grand Junction–Tonight the Glenwood Demons girls’ and boys’ teams take on the Central Warriors in Grand Junction. The Lady Demons tip off at 5:30 while the boys’ game begins around 7. You can catch both games live on KMTS.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) – The Denver Broncos are living on the
edge and loving it.
They’ve won six of seven games since Tim Tebow became their
starting quarterback. Five of those have involved second-half
comebacks, including a 35-32 win at Minnesota on Sunday that pushed
them into a tie with Oakland atop the AFC West at 7-5.
The recipe for this remarkable resurgence is to hang around with
a usually stellar defense and a ball-control, low-risk, no-frills
offense, playing for field position.
Until crunch time, that is, when Tebow takes over and either
scrambles for a touchdown or sets up Matt Prater for a winning
kick.

CANUCKS-HIGGINS-INJURY
Canucks’ Chris Higgins will miss Tuesday’s game vs. Avalanche
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) – Vancouver Canucks forward
Chris Higgins will miss Tuesday’s game against the Colorado
Avalanche because of a staph infection in his foot.
Coach Alain Vigneault (vihn-YOH’) says Higgins came in Monday
morning with his foot all swollen up, and said the same thing
happened to him last year in Florida. Vigneault says team officials
there first thought it was a snake bite, then a spider bite before
figuring out it was a staph infection.
Vigneault says Higgins was due to visit an infection specialist
Monday. The Canucks have recalled Viktor Oreskovich from Chicago of the
AHL to take Higgins’ spot in the lineup.
NEW YORK (AP) – Quarterbacks Robert Griffin II of Baylor and
Stanford’s Andrew Luck head up a group of five announced finalists
for the Heisman Trophy. They’ll be joined in New York for
Saturday’s presentation ceremony by running backs Trent Richardson
of Alabama and Wisconsin’s Montee Ball, and LSU defensive back
Tyrann Mathieu.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – San Diego rode a near-flawless
performance from quarterback Philip Rivers to a 34-14 victory over
the Jaguars last night in Jacksonville, ending the Chargers’
six-game losing streak. The three-time Pro Bowl selection threw for
three touchdowns and posted by far his highest QB rating of the
season

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (AP) – The NHL is opting for a bold
realignment plan that will give the league four conferences instead
of six divisions and guarantee home-and-home series among all
teams. The reshuffling was made necessary by Atlanta’s move to
Winnipeg last summer.

DALLAS (AP) – One year and two days after his passing, Ron Santo
was voted into baseball’s Hall of Fame. After being passed over
during his 15 years of eligibility on the writers’ ballot, the Cubs
nine-time All-Star third baseman received 15 affirmative votes from
the 16-member Veterans Committee and will be enshrined in
Cooperstown next summer.

UNDATED (AP) – Harvard jumped into the AP men’s college
basketball poll for the first time. The 25th-ranked Crimson are the
first Ivy League school to be ranked since Princeton made the top
10 late in the 1997-98 season. Kentucky and Ohio State are still
1-2.
