UNDATED (AP) – There are three top-25 men’s basketball games on
tap this evening.
Based on last week’s Associated Press poll, and a new one will
be released this afternoon, the highest ranked team in action
tonight will be No. 2 Syracuse. The 25-1 Orange are on the road for
a game at Louisville. Syracuse played twice last week, winning both
games, over Georgetown and Connecticut.
In last week’s poll Baylor was ranked sixth and tonight the
Bears are home to Iowa State. It’s a good bet Baylor’s ranking will
change before the game as the Bears dropped both of their games
last week, to No. 7 Kansas and No. 4 Missouri.
The final game of the night has seventh-ranked Kansas playing at
Kansas State.

NBA-SCHEDULE
Clippers to face defending champs
UNDATED (AP) – Six games comprise this evening’s NBA schedule.
Perhaps the best matchup has Pacific Division leading Los Angeles,
as in the Clippers, playing the defending champion Mavericks in
Dallas. The Clips top the Lakers by two and a half games, while the
Mavs are two games back of the Spurs in the Southwest Division.
Philadelphia, the top team in the Atlantic Division, is looking
to join the group of teams that have won 20 games this season. The
Sixers take their 19-9 record against the Bobcats in Charlotte.
Miami has won eight of its last 10 games and tonight the Heat
are on the road for a game against the Bucks in Milwaukee.
The New Orleans Hornets are out to snap an eight game losing
skid with a home game tonight against Utah, and Phoenix is playing
at Golden State.

NHL-SCHEDULE
First place clubs San Jose and Vancouver to see action
UNDATED (AP) – San Jose looks to build on its one-point lead
over idle Los Angeles in the NHL’s Pacific Division tonight. The
Sharks are facing the Capitals in Washington, in a game the Caps
need as they fight for a playoff berth. At the start of the day the
Capitals are four points back of Florida in the Southeast Division
and a point back of Toronto for the final playoff spot in the
Eastern Conference.
Vancouver continues to put pressure on Detroit for the best
record in the Western Conference. The Canucks, who top Calgary in
the Northwest Division by 14 points, trail the Red Wings by four
points in the West. This evening the Canucks are playing host to
Phoenix, which currently holds the final playoff spot in the West.
The final game of the night features Carolina playing at
Montreal.
