DENVER (AP) – Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points and the Dallas
Mavericks snapped a three-game losing streak by beating the
undermanned Denver Nuggets 105-95 on Wednesday night.
Vince Carter added 17 points, and Shawn Marion and Rodrigue
Beaubois added 13 points each for the Mavericks, who defeated
Denver for the first time in five tries.

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) – Air Force has fired Jeff
Reynolds as men’s basketball coach after five seasons.
The school announced the decision Wednesday.
Assistant coach Dave Pilipovich will step in as the interim
coach. Under the 55-year-old Reynolds, the Falcons are 11-10 this
season with a 1-6 mark in the Mountain West Conference. The Falcons
suffered their worst home loss ever Jan. 31 when they lost to New
Mexico 81-42. Reynolds has a 63-82 overall record at Air Force and owns a
145-116 career mark in eight seasons as a head coach.

DENVER (AP) – The Denver Broncos have signed free-agent fullback
Austin Sylvester.
Sylvester originally signed with Denver as a college free agent
from Washington in 2011. He was on the Broncos’ practice squad for
five weeks last season but was on the active roster for two games.
He also spent two weeks on Tampa Bay’s practice squad in his
rookie season.

MLS-RAPIDS-DYNAMO TRADE
Rapids trade Kandji to Dynamo for draft pick
DENVER (AP) – The Colorado Rapids have traded forward Macoumba
Kandji to the Houston Dynamo for a conditional draft pick.
Kandji was with Colorado when it won its first MLS Cup in 2010.
His play led to the winning overtime goal, but he tore his ACL in
his left knee in the process.
He returned to the field midway through the 2011 season.
