ROCKIES’ CUDDYER JUST MISSES HR DERBY FINALS

New York, NY—Colorado Rockies’ All-Star outfielder Michael Cuddyer managed to put 15 baseballs in the cheap seats last night during the first round of the home run derby at CitiField in New York.  Unfortunately he was edged out in the finals by 20 year old second year phenom Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals.  Harper ended up losing the long ball contest to Yoenis Cespedes of the Oakland A’s. 

THREE ROCKES IN THE NL STARTING LINEUP

New York, NY—The purple and black will be proudly represented at the midsummer classic tonight in New York.  Outfielders Michael Cuddyer and Carlos Gonzalez will start for the National League along with shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. 

BRONCOS’ LEFT TACKLE SIGNS EXTENSION

Englewood—Denver Broncos’ All-Pro left tackle Ryan Clady will be in blue and orange for the next five years.  The team signed Clady to an extension woth over 57 million dollars.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Phillies center fielder Ben Revere is undergoing surgery today on his broken right foot. He suffered the injury in a game last Saturday against the White Sox. Revere is expected to miss between six and eight weeks.

UNDATED (AP) — It apparently didn’t take Metta World Peace long to find a new job. Four days after being waived by the Lakers, the player formerly known as Ron Artest, says he’s signing with the New York Knicks. World Peace has averaged 14.1 points and 4.7 rebounds during his 14-year NBA career.

UNDATED (AP) — The 16th stage of the Tour de France is taking place today. It’s a 104 mile trek that is considered a medium mountain stage event. Britain’s Chris Froome remains the overall leader by 4 minutes, 14 seconds.
