Denver–The Colorado Rockies lost to the Oakland A’s last night at Coors Field 8 to 5. The Rockies have dropped 6 in a row, matching the season high. Hosh Outman will be on the hill for the Rockies tonight looking for his first win.

Denver–The Colorado Rapids have re-signed defender Drew Moor to a multiyear contract extension. Moor was a key member of the Rapids’ MLS Cup Championship team in 2010.

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) – More graphic testimony is expected today
in the sex abuse trial of former Penn State assistant football
coach Jerry Sandusky. The jury has heard from two of the alleged
victims and a former assistant coach. Six more accusers are
expected to take the stand.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Jurors will begin today to pore over the
testimony of 46 witnesses heard over 26 days in the trial of former
star pitcher Roger Clemens. He’s accused of lying to Congress when
he denied taking performance-enhancing drugs.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson resume
golf’s greatest running rivalry at the U.S. Open tomorrow. It will
be the first time Woods and Mickelson have been paired in the
championship since Torrey Pines in 2008, when the USGA grouped
players off the world ranking.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – The Giants face the Astros again tonight in
National League play. San Francisco’s Madison Bumgarner had a
season-high 12 strikeouts and the first home run of his major
league career in last night’s 6-3 victory over Houston.

LONDON (AP) – The parents of Andy Schleck say the 2010 Tour de
France champion has pulled out of this year’s race after injuring
his back during a race in the French Alps this month. Johny Schleck
tells The Associated Press his son won’t be able to ride for at
least five weeks and also will likely miss the London Olympics.
