T25 FOOTBALL-SCHEDULE
Two games on tap tonight
UNDATED (AP) – There are two top-25 football teams in action
this evening. In Blacksburg, Va., the ninth-ranked Hokies of
Virginia Tech are playing host to North Carolina in an ACC matchup.
This is a big game for the home team as the Hokies, who are 9-and-1
overall and 5-and-1 in the conference, can move closer to another
trip to the league championship game. If Tech, which has won five
straight, beats Carolina and Virginia loses at No. 23 Florida State
on Saturday night, the Hokies would qualify for the title game.
Carolina is coming off a bye week.
This evening’s other game has No. 22 Southern Mississippi
playing in Birmingham, Ala., against UAB. The Golden Eagles are
9-and-1 and 5-and-1 in Conference USA. With a win they would clinch
the conference’s East Division title. The Eagles have won eight
straight.
