Pitkin County has issued an alert for the Smuggler Mountain area.
Three moose have been spotted in the area of Smuggler Mountain near local hiking trails.
Please be alert if you choose to hike in the area, and keep pets on leashes.
Alternate hiking areas might be wiser choices until the moose move along.
Trail closures might occur if deemed necessary.
