With two critically acclaimed collaborations with Pistol Annies already under her belt, Ashley Monroe tells Billboard there’s likely to be another one.
“I think definitely there’s going to be more music. I just don’t know when. We started several songs and we have so many that we haven’t even recorded yet,” she says in the latest edition of the Alt in Our Stars podcast. “I think next year we’re going to be doing something, I just don’t know what.”
The trio actually already got back together last month, as Angaleena Presley reunited with Ashley and Miranda Lambert on two of her Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars dates. Miranda’s Instagram post that weekend seems to confirm what Ashley is saying: “The Pistol Annie’s raised a ruckus last night in Augusta GA when we surprised the crowd… The GIRLS are back in town!”
Since their sophomore effort Annie Up in 2013, Angaleena released her first solo album, American Middle Class last year, while Ashley hit number one with Miranda’s now-ex-husband Blake Shelton on “Lonely Tonight,” earlier in 2015.
Ashley recently released the video for the second single from her record, The Blade. You can check out “Bombshell” on YouTube.
