Next week, we’ll get our first taste of new music from Blake Shelton in a year and a half. On Tuesday, he’ll release “Came Here to Forget,” the lead single from his twelfth studio album.
Having earlier promised his new project won’t shy away from addressing his sudden divorce from Miranda Lambert and his new relationship with Gwen Stefani, Blake says the new tune fits the bill.
“I’ve had a lot of music over the years but I don’t think I’ve ever had a song before that’s such a direct look into my life,” the Voice coach reveals. “That’s why I’m so excited about this particular song.”
So far, all we know is that “Came Here to Forget” focuses on one couple’s encounter in a bar. No word on whether audiences in Memphis and Nashville might get a sneak peek, as Blake plays there this week.
