Last June’s church shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina hit very close to home for Darius Rucker
He tells Rolling Stone, “My son goes to school directly across the street from Mother Emanuel. I mean directly across the street. I park in the parking lot to pick him up sometimes. That was . . . home. That was right in the heart of where we live, of our community.”
In the time since those shootings, Darius says he’s seen a big outpouring love in the Charleston community.
He adds, “It’s just love, coming every day and every minute.”
