Dierks Bentley’s latest single is shaping up to be one of the most successful of his career so far, bounding into country’s top 40 less than a week after its release. As fate would have it, the co-host of the upcoming ACM Awards was indeed “Somewhere on a Beach” when he took note of his new song’s momentum.

“I was ready to have fun, so it’s been really cool to see the fans immediately react to this song the way they have,” the “Drunk on a Plane” hitmaker says. “As I literally sit on a beach right now in Cancun, I can’t remember ever being this excited about a new single.” Dierks played Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa Mexican getaway vacation over the weekend.

“Somewhere on a Beach” is the lead single from Dierks’ forthcoming album, BLACK, and it’s also the name of his 2016 tour. Randy Houser and Cam were already set to join him on the trek. Monday he announced singer/songwriter Tucker Beathard will open the shows.

The North American leg kicks off May 12 in Holmdel, New Jersey, with tickets for select cities going on sale this Friday.
