
As condolences poured out across social media after the passing of legendary musician Glen Campbell on Tuesday, no remembrance was quite so moving as the one posted by his daughter.
“Heartbroken,” Ashley Campbell tweeted, along with a photo of her holding her father’s hand. “I owe him everything I am, and everything I ever will be. He will be remembered so well and with so much love.”
The 30-year-old shared the stage with her father on his final tour, even as he battled Alzheimer’s. The Country-Music-Hall-of-Famer died Tuesday in Nashville, after years of bravely battling the disease.
“Songs, songs, songs…” Tim McGraw remarked. “Man, in a world of good stuff, his was great, in a world of great stuff, his was special!”
“Extremely sad to hear that Glen Campbell has passed away,” Blake Shelton shared. “My prayers and thoughts go out to him and his family.”
“Thank you Glen Campbell for the artistry, grace & class you brought to country music,” Brad Paisley offered. “You were a shining light in so many ways.”
“RIP Glenn Campbell,” Brad’s wife Kim Williams-Paisley added. “Love and peace to his family #legend #endalz” The actress’s own mother died in late 2016, after battling dementia.
“Glen Campbell was one of the greatest voices of all time,” Dolly Parton declared, taking time to record a video message. “I will always love you, Glen!”
