Invasion of the 90’s redneck zombies: How Brothers Osborne can commit to a costume

What’s not to love about Halloween? For Brothers Osborne, it’s the one day a year you can get away with almost anything.

“Literally, you can dress up like a zombie and drag your foot behind you all day and make weird noises,” T.J. says. “And everyone finds that completely acceptable.”

T.J.’s actually remembering one of his brother John’s more impressive costumes.

“One year I dressed up as a ’90s redneck zombie with a mullet wig and an Alan Jackson denim coat,” John explains. “I never once broke character. That’s part of the thing… you can actually not break character and get away with it.”

He laughs, “Everywhere I went, even when I ordered a drink, I ordered it like a zombie that was falling apart. It was so fun!”

Next week, Brothers Osborne will defend their CMA Duo of the Year trophy at the 51st Annual CMA Awards. T.J. and John are also up for Music Video of the Year for “It Ain’t My Fault.”
