It was ladies’ night on Friday, as an all-female lineup kicked off the first evening of the 4th ACM Party for a Cause at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. The group, which included Cam, Martina McBride, Maddie & Tae, Brandy Clark and more, had a few surprises up their sleeves.
Kelsea Ballerini’s set closed with a moment the 22-year-old won’t soon forget, as the Academy presented her with this year’s trophy for New Female Artist of the Year.
Headliner Carrie Underwood kept the momentum going, turning “Before He Cheats” into an all-star singalong with Lauren Alaina, Jana Kramer, Kellie Pickler and Kelleigh Bannen. The crowd went wild as Carrie continued the surprises, bringing Miranda Lambert onstage to join her for their hit “Something Bad.”
The Storyteller singer, who’ll appear on the American Idol finale this coming week, then brought the night to a close with a double encore of “Smoke Break” and “Something in the Water.”
