Taylor Swift went back to her country roots — kind of — when she played in Nashville, Tennessee Friday night: two-thirds of her special guests were country artists.

One of Taylor’s guests was Kelsea Ballerini, for whom Taylor has served as something of a mentor.  They teamed up to cover her #1 country hit “Love Me Like You Mean It.”  Another guest was Grammy-winning Alison Krauss, who duetted with Taylor on her hit version of Keith Whitley’sWhen You Say Nothing at All.

But the biggest name was Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, who’s started a country solo career.  The two sang Aerosmith’s 1998 smash “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.”  Back in 2012, Taylor tweeted, “I feel like I’d be more understood if people knew ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ by Aerosmith is how most of my emotions sound in my head.”  Tyler responded to that by tweeting after the performance, “WELL MA DARLIN’…YOU SURE WERE OVERSTOOD TONIGHT! A++…EPIC SHOW…UNTIL NEXTIME.”

Taylor posted a video of the two singing together, writing, “Singing ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ with was an honor. So inspired by how sweet he was to all of us.”

As for Kelsea, Taylor called her “my little sis” on Twitter, and said she was “charming and fantastic.”  She called Krauss “Breathtaking. Regal. Elegant,” and added, “So blown away by her grace.”

Expect even more stars to join Taylor tonight at her second Nashville gig.
