Michael Becker/FOX

Twenty-five years into her career, Trisha Yearwood has accomplished a first. This week, her single from the soundtrack of Fox’s The Passion becomes her first hit on the Christian chart. “Broken” debuts at number 48 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs ranking. The tune was originally a number-seven hit for the band Lifehouse in 2008 on the magazine’s Adult Pop Songs tally.

In all, Billboard tabulates that Trisha has charted 45 songs on the country chart since she started recording in 1991. The two-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year will play Mary, the Mother of Jesus, March 20 on Fox’s Palm Sunday presentation of The Passion. She’ll sing “Broken,” as well as four other songs, in the live broadcast from New Orleans.

This weekend, Trisha plays Raleigh, North Carolina, along with husband Garth Brooks
