Why Blake Shelton “Came Here to Forget” All the Fighting over His Latest Album

Warner Music Nashville

Chances are, you’ll feel like you get your money’s worth if you spring for the new Blake Shelton album. If I’m Honest boasts 15 songs, a first for the star of NBC’s The Voice.

“I’ve never made a record with that many songs on it. We really sat down and went, ‘Okay, what are we not going to put on this record?’ and it led to some of the biggest fights that we’ve had as a team,” he confesses. “And I’m not kidding — full-on, have-to-leave-the-room arguments — till we finally went, ‘You know what? We all have our favorites and if they mean that much to all of us, let’s put ‘em all on it.’ And it’s true, screw it, who cares?” he adds with typical Blake candor.

You can check out the first favorite released to radio Friday night, when Blake performs “Came Here to Forget” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The show starts at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC. If I’m Honest will be new in stores and online May 20.
