Just as many people throughout history have used expression through the arts to cope with trauma, each of us can use poetry, personal stories, art, or music to overcome fear and hardships, whatever those difficulties may be. We invite you to come and share words, images and more that inspire strength, healing and resilience during this Open Mic Night starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the New Castle Branch Library. Our M.C. for the evening will be Caito Foster of Spit Poet Publishing. Co-hosted in Spanish by Bianca Godina, poet. The event is free, open to all, and presented in conjunction with the library’s 360 Health series and Colorado Mountain College’s Common Reader. For more information call the library at 970-984-2346.
