It’s easy for us to look at a globe and point to the various regions, countries, and world landmarks. The world that author Robin Wall Kimmerer shares is a layer below. It’s the generations of cultures and peoples that are no longer on a map, though have wide influence, knowledge, and mastery over this domain. Join us for a wide-ranging conversation about writing, indigenous knowledge, and our critical connection to nature. Kimmerer is a mother, scientist, decorated professor, and enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation who tours widely and has been featured on NPR’s On Being with Krista Tippett. She has also addressed the general assembly of the United Nations on the topic of “Healing Our Relationship with Nature.” This virtual conversation is presented by your Garfield County Libraries and begins at 6 pm on Thursday, January 21. It is free to attend as part of the Winter Reading Challenge. For more information and to participate visit www.gcpld.org/kimmerer.
