Authorities say four soldiers from Fort Carson have turned themselves in after breaking into a Colorado Springs apartment and threatening the residents with a gun.
Colorado Springs Police say the soldiers were arrested on suspicion of burglary, menacing and child abuse. All four are currently being held in the El Paso County jail.
Investigators say a family of four was at the apartment Sunday evening when the four men walked in, one carrying a handgun. The family told responding officers that the man threatened to shoot them and demanded property. So far, authorities haven’t addressed any possible motive for the incident, but they say that the family knew the soldiers.
The four men turned themselves in later Sunday night. Fort Carson officials have not yet issued any statements in the case.
