Glenwood Woman with Broken Arm Rescued from Crown Mountain

Around 10:30 Thursday morning, Pitkin County authorities received a phone call from a woman who indicated she had broken her arm in several places while motorcycling on Crown Mountain near Basalt.  According to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office, ten emergency responders from Mountain Rescue Aspen, Basalt & Rural Fire Protection District and the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office responded and the 47 year old Glenwood Springs woman was transported to Valley View Hospital by 1:00.

The woman’s name has not been released.

The Crown Mountain Trail rises from an elevation of about 7,000 feet to approximately 8,800 feet.
