Library Looking for Your Story
The Carbondale Branch Library is collecting stories of early settlers from the Carbondale area. This collection will be a valuable source of information for people researching their family history, and those seeking to know about the people who have lived in the Crystal River and Roaring Fork valley areas. This is part of the Genealogy Project headed by library volunteer Diane Hitchcock-Owens who hosted past genealogy workshops, and is coordinating with the library and the Mt. Sopris Historical Society to create a genealogy repository. The goal is to have genealogical information available to those looking for information about relatives who have settled in this area. If you would like to contribute to this collection, please bring your story to the Carbondale Branch Library or call 970-963-2889 for more information.
